Glass Inc. - Reflections 1999-2019

T o celebrate 20 years in business is an achievement in any industry, but it came as no sur- prise to me that Glass, Inc. has reached that milestone. It is also no surprise that there has been a strong relationship between Yates and Glass, Inc. since day one. When I first met Robert over 30 years ago, he worked for a large glass company and had just been transferred to Meridian. He was assigned to one of our projects his first week, and that project was behind schedule. Our first discussion was somewhat tense, but Robert stepped up and made things happen. And since that time, he has always made things happen in a very positive way. After he founded Glass, Inc., the relationship has become even stronger. Yates and Glass, Inc. have collaborated on countless projects – many of them I consider showcase projects such as Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, The MAX in Meridian, and CenturyLink’s headquarters in Shreveport. Glass, Inc. has outstanding skilled employees who are committed to a culture of safety and quality, and they are devoted to providing the best services and products to their clients. Whether the project is small or large, Robert and Glass, Inc. respond like it is the most important project they have ever had, and they want to be part of making that project a success. I think it is important to a company for the next generation of employees to be better than the ones before them. The next gen- eration, whether they are family or not, needs to be better than the generation who’s running the company right now. If you are a good coach, a good mentor, and a good leader, then the next generation will be better, and the company will continue to grow and be strong. Robert is that kind of coach, mentor, and leader. The success of Glass, Inc. attests to that. As Glass, Inc. enters this 20th year, it will be a time of both celebration and reflection. What I think is most exciting is looking forward and embracing the future with anticipation of the growth and success Glass, Inc. will continue to experience. Congratulations to the entire Glass, Inc. team! William Gully Yates, Jr. President & CEO, The Yates Companies, Inc. Foreword: Bill Yates 7
