Glass Inc. - Reflections 1999-2019
O n July 5, 1999, Glass, Inc. opened for business. Six of the top glass people in Mississippi joined me in our office located in the old A&B Electric building in Meridian to begin the work of becoming one of the top glass and glazing companies in the Southeast. Our first goal was to reach one million dollars in sales the first year — and then five million in sales by our third year. We exceeded both benchmarks. Today, Glass, Inc. is one of the largest glass companies in the Southeast. We have successfully completed over 3,000 glazing projects, both large and small. That number is a testament to the hard work of our employees, as well as a commitment to doing the job right. We want every customer to be happy with our work every time. We understand that our reputation depends on this commitment. We also understand it is the key to repeat business. Over the last twenty years, that commitment has remained steadfast. We can count hundreds of loyal customers who have been with us since the very beginning. Our biggest customer during our inaugural year, W.G. Yates and Sons, is still our biggest customer today. I thank Yates for their support and friendship and look forward to working with them for years to come. And I look forward to meeting new customers and developing new friendships in the years to come. Robert Smith, Jr. President & CEO, Glass, Inc. Note From Robert Smith 9
