During 2018-2019, Smith effectively led the Building Construction Science (BCS) program at Mississippi State, as the Chair of the Industry Advisory Board, through the arduous accreditation process, providing insight, assistance, and wisdom. BCS more than doubled the number of students in the program during the last five years.
